soon after building my monster fire breathing super duper strimmer engined powered gp3 the bike has lost all power and wont rev. it starts straight with no choke but only splutters slightly above tick over on full throttle. if i tip the bike on around 45 degrees it revs better but thats no good to me. it has all the parts possible fitted with a dellorto copy carb i changed the 3 stage reeds to normal ones and that didn't work. i think i may have a leak on the case somewhere i used hermatite instead of gaskets anyone got a neat way to make a pressure tester? to test for leaks? what pressure is safe before i blow it apart? a mate of mine also has a wrecked aprillia 50 with a genuine dellorto carb the neck is a little smaller than the copies we all use do you think this would work better being off a racing road bike.

Hi Tony this may sound a little strange, but is the Throttle Slide attached to the throttle still? When i got my GP3r, it wouldnt rev properly, had little power, and only worked if it was tipped on its side (because the slide moved). It was the one thing that i diddnt check, because it seemed so un-likely.
If it has a leak, obviously it will not rev properly, but it should still rev. Hope this helps mate

i did check the throttle. and i agree the silliest things sometimes are the most troublesome. i stripped it down yesterday and did a blow test and i could hear air escaping from the seal behind the flywheel. cant believe it ran at all so ive been matching up the casing as these fit terribly and polishing and rounding off all the edges. ill post the outcome and some photos as i do actually have a bike to photgraph now ive built one ;D
